CAF president Patrice Motsepe says all 54 African member associations support Gianni Infantino’s re-election as FIFA president, Reuters reports.
The announcement came at a football strategy conference in Cape Verde. Infantino promised continued support for African football.
The endorsement is a campaign development, not an election result. It places African football associations at the centre of the coming vote.
The stated support makes African associations an important part of the re-election campaign without determining its result.
